Vitamin E is a natural anti-oxidant. Horses must obtain this Vitamin from their diet, as they can not produce it in their bodies. With modern horse keeping methods, most horses do not have access to fresh lush green pastures, where they would find enough of this fat soluble vitamin to satisfy their requirements, and must be supplemented.

Vitamin E is important for the immune system, for neurological and nerve function, as well as to rid the body of damaging free radicals that can lead to tissue damage. Horses that do not have enough Vitamin E in their diets can present with hard stringy muscle tissue, muscle soreness after riding, tying up like symptoms, and frequent and slow recovery from illness.

For increased performance and wellness, supplementation can help with exercise recovery and easing muscle soreness after prolonged or strenuous activity. In this way it can also help with tying up and PSSM horses. It also helps manage the horses damaging response to stress, so it is a great supplement for horses that are in training, traveling or competing often. It also boosts the immune system, and is important in keeping all tissues healthy. It is also good for metabolic horses, as it helps with insulin sensitivity, and can help prevent or manage neurological issues or diseases.
